Read the words to this song and then I will type some thoughts about it.
Fill My Cup, Lord:
1. Like the woman at the well I was seeking For things that could not satisfy. And then I heard my Savior speaking: “Draw from my well that never shall run dry.
(Chorus)
2. There are millions in this world who are craving The pleasure earthly things afford. But none can match the wondrous treasure That I find in Jesus Christ my Lord.
(Chorus)
3. So, my brother, if the things this world gave you; Leave hungers that won’t pass away. My blessed Lord will come and save you If you kneel to Him and Humbly pray.
(Chorus)

Chorus: Fill my cup, Lord, I lift it up Lord. Come and quench this thirsting of my soul. Bread of heaven, feed me till I want no more; Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole.
When I read the words to this song. I think of my coco cup. When I pour my coco I want a full cup, I don’t want a half cup. That is what we should want from the Lord. We want a Full cup from the Lord. Here is some full cups we should want from the Lord.
1. First it starts with the Cup of Salvation! Psalm 116:13 – I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord. If you never had the Lord fill your cup in this area please look back on my post of Dec. 16, 2009.
2. How about the cup of blessings. 1 Corinthians 10:16 – The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? Look at the words from the song “Draw from my well that never shall run dry” I believe that God wants to shower us with blessings but we don’t reach for them.
3. The cup of Consolation. Jeremiah 16:7- Neither shall men tear themselves for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother. Consolation is defined - Comfort; alleviation of misery, or distress of mind; refreshment of mind or spirits; a comparative degree of happiness in distress or misfortune, springing from any circumstance that abates the evil, or supports and strengthens the mind, as hope, joy, courage and the like.
4. How about a cup of refreshing? – Matthew 10:42 – And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward. Have you ever been so thirsting you just have to have a large glass of ice water and it quenches the thirst? That is how we should feel when we go to the Lord.
5. The last cup should be the cup of our Testimony. 1 Corinthians 11: 25, 26- After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
As I am typing this I am thinking this would make a great Mother’s Day devotion. This devotional can be expanded. I could see the Tea Cups sitting on tables. With little tiny sandwiches. A Victorian decorations etc. I think this would be good!

God's Hands
-- Author Unknown

Wishing to encourage her young son's progress on the piano, a mother took her boy to a Paderewski concert. After they were seated, the mother spotted a friend in the audience and walked down the aisle to greet her. Seizing the opportunity to explore the wonders of the concert hall, the little boy rose and eventually explored his way through a door marked "NO ADMITTANCE."

When the house lights dimmed and the concert was about to begin, the mother returned to her seat and discovered that the child was missing.

Suddenly, the curtains parted and spotlights focused on the impressive Steinway on stage. In horror, the mother saw her little boy was sitting at the keyboard, innocently picking out "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." At that moment, the great piano master made his entrance, quickly moved to the piano, and whispered in the boy's ear, "Don't quit. Keep playing."

Then, leaning over, Paderewski reached down with his left hand and began filling in a bass part. Soon his right arm reached around to the other side of the child and he added a running obligato. Together, the old master and the young novice transformed a frightening situation into a wonderfully creative experience. The audience was so mesmerized they couldn't recall what else the great master played. Only the classic "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."

That's the way it is with God. What we can accomplish on our own is hardly noteworthy. We try our best, but the results aren't exactly graceful flowing music. But with the hand of the Master, our life's work truly can be beautiful. Next time you set out to accomplish great feats, listen carefully. You can hear the voice of the Master, whispering in your ear, "Don't quit. Keep playing."

I thought today I would write about what the Bible has to say about the weather. I am so over the weather. According to the news we have had 61 in. of snow this winter. I am so wanting to open my windows and let the fresh air into the house. Everywhere you go it seems the topic of conversation is the weather. . When I started to look at weather and the Bible I was amazed on the amount of scriptures it has. It mentions all kinds of weather from hailstorms, to floods, thunders etc….

1.God is in control of what He created.

Jeremiah 14:22 – Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? Or can the heavens give showers? Art not thou he. O Lord our God? Therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou has made all these things.

Mark 4 : 39, 41 – (39) And he arose and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. (41) And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

Psalm 29:10 – The Lord sitteth upon the flood; yea, the Lord sitteth King for ever.

Psalm 107: 25, 29 – (25) For he commandeth and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof. (29) He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

2.God sends the snow, cold and frost-

Frost – Psalm 78:47
Snow- Job 37:6

Lightning-
Job 37:3, Psalm 18:12-14, Psalm 97:4, Psalm78: 47-48, Jeremiah 10:13

Wind
Gen. 8:1-2, Numbers 11:31, Isaiah 11:15, Ex. 10: 12-13,19, Ex. 15:10, Ex. 14:21
There is a lot more I could right on this one.

Rains and floods
Gen. 2:5, Gen. 6:17, 1 King 17:14, Job 28:11, Ps. 68:9, Nahum 1:8
Also, lots more scripture on this.

Hailstones
Joshua 10:11, Haggai 2:17, Ezekiel 13:13, Psalm 105:32, Psalm 78: 47-48

I thought about typing all the words to the scriptures but decided not to. I like the idea of opening my Bible and looking up the scriptures. So, as I am typing this it is early morning. Not sure what the weather for today is going to bring. But I will be reminded that God gave us this weather. I will try real hard not to complain. If today he sends us more snow! Not sure where God is wanting us to put it but we will find a place! I am so thankful that God gave us 4 seasons to enjoy! Spring is right around the corner!

Information Please!
When I was quite young, my father had one of the first telephones in our neighborhood. I remember well the polished, old case fastened to the wall. The shiny receiver hung on the side of the box. I was too little to reach the telephone, but used to listen with fascination when my mother used to talk to it. Then I discovered that somewhere inside the wonderful device lived an amazing person. Her name was "Information Please" and there was nothing she did not know. "Information Please" could supply anybody's number and the correct time.

My first personal experience with this genie-in-the-bottle came one day while my mother was visiting a neighbor. Amusing myself at the tool bench in the basement, I whacked my finger with a hammer. The pain was terrible, but there didn't seem to be any reason in crying because there was no one home to give sympathy. I walked around the house sucking my throbbing finger, finally arriving at the stairway. The telephone! Quickly, I ran for the footstool in the parlor and dragged it to the landing. Climbing up, I unhooked the receiver in the parlor and held it to my ear. "Information Please," I said into the mouthpiece just above my head. A click or two and a small clear voice spoke into my ear. "Information". "I hurt my finger..." I wailed into the phone. The tears came readily enough now that I had an audience. "Isn't your mother home?" came the question. "Nobody's home but me," I blubbered. "Are you bleeding?" the voice asked. "No," I replied. "I hit my finger with the hammer and it hurts." "Can you open your icebox?" she asked. I said I could. "Then chip off a little piece of ice and hold it to your finger," said the voice.

After that, I called "Information Please" for everything. I asked her for help with my geography and she told me where Philadelphia was. She helped me with my math. She told me that my pet chipmunk, I had caught in the park just the day before, would eat fruit and nuts.

Then, there was the time Petey, our pet canary died. I called "Information Please" and told her the sad story. She listened, and then said the usual things grown-ups say to soothe a child. But I was unconsoled. I asked her, "Why is it that birds should sing so beautifully and bring joy to all families, only to end up as a heap of feathers on the bottom of a cage?" She must have sensed my deep concern, for she said quietly, "Paul, always remember that there are other worlds to sing in." Somehow I felt better. Another day I was on the telephone. "Information Please." "Information," said the now familiar voice. "How do you spell fix?" I asked.

All this took place in a small town in the Pacific Northwest. When I was nine years old, we moved across the country to Boston. I missed my friend very much. "Information Please" belonged in that old wooden box back home and I somehow never thought of trying the tall, shiny new phone that sat on the table in the hall.

As I grew into my teens, the memories of those childhood conversations never really left me. Often, in moments of doubt and perplexity, I would recall the serene sense of security I had then. I appreciated now how patient, kind, and understanding she was to have spent her time on a little boy.

A few years later, on my way west to college, my plane put down in Seattle I had about half-an-hour or so between planes. I spent 15 minutes or so on the phone with my sister, who lived there now. Then, without thinking what I was doing, I dialed my hometown operator and said, "Information, please." Miraculously, I heard the small, clear voice I knew so well. "Information." I hadn't planned this, but I heard myself saying, "Could you please tell me how to spell fix?" There was a long pause. Then came the soft spoken answer, "I guess your finger must have healed by now." I laughed, "So it's really still you," I said. "I wonder if you have any idea how much you meant to me during that time." "I wonder," she said, "if you know how much your calls meant to me. I never had any children and I used to look forward to your calls." I told her how often I had thought of her over the years and I asked if I could call her again when I came back to visit my sister. "Please do," she said. "Just ask for Sally."

Three months later I was back in Seattle. A different voice answered, "Information." I asked for Sally. "Are you a friend?" she said. "Yes, a very old friend," I answered. "I'm sorry to have to tell you this," she said. "Sally had been working part time the last few years because she was sick. She died five weeks ago." Before I could hang up she said, "Wait a minute. Is your name Paul?" "Yes." "Well, Sally left a message for you. She wrote it down in case you called. Let me read it to you." The note said, "Tell him I still say there are other worlds to sing in. He'll know what I mean." I thanked her and hung up. I knew what Sally meant.

Never underestimate the impression you may make on others. Whose life have you touched today?

I have been watching the Winter Olympics on TV. I really enjoy watching them. I thought about the people that are competing. To be as good as they are they really have to be dedicated to it. I am sure they practice, practice and practice! They interviewed a guy and he said he studies a lot of video of him doing jumps so he can correct errors in what he is doing. Then I thought about Christians how dedicated are we to our Christian walk? We have to be faithful, faithful, faithful in our Christian walk! We have to be studying our Bibles so we can correct errors in our walk. We need to be in church faithfully! Just like in the Olympics they get a medal for winning. When we get to Heaven we have crowns waiting for us also. The Bible speaks of running our race:
1 Cor. 9:24 – Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
Hebrews 12:1 – Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
Here is some scriptures on our rewards:
1 Cor. 9: 24-25 crown of self-control
1 Thess. 2:19 crown of soul-winning
2 Tim. 4:8 crown of righteousness
James 1: 12, Rev. 2: 10 crown of life
1 Peter 5: 4 crown of glory ( this is only for Pastors)
1 Cor. 3 crown of faithfulness

Help Somebody
-- Author Unknown

It was a cold winter's day that Sunday. The parking lot to the church was filling up quickly. I noticed as I got out of my car that fellow church members were whispering among themselves as they walked to the church.

As I got closer I saw a man leaned up against the wall outside the church. He was almost laying down as if he was asleep. He had on a long trench coat that was almost in shreds and a hat topped his head, pulled down so you couldn't see his face.

He wore shoes that looked 30 years old, too small for his feet, with holes all over them, his toes stuck out. I assumed this man was homeless, and asleep, so I walked on by through the doors of the Church.

We all enjoy fellowship for a few minutes, and then someone brought up the man who was laying outside. People snickered and gossiped, but no one bothered to ask him to come in, including me. A few moments later church began. We all waited for the Preacher to take his place, and to give us The Word, when the doors to the church opened. In came the homeless man, walking down the aisle with his head down.

People gasped and whispered and made faces. He made his way down the aisle and up onto thepulpit. When he took off his hat and coat my heart sank. There stood our preacher... he was the "homeless man."

No one said a word... the room was silent and still.

Then the preacher took his Bible and laid it on the stand.

"Folks, I don't think I have to tell you what I'm preaching about today." Then he started singing the words to this song...

"If I can help somebody as I pass along,
If I can cheer somebody with a word or song,
If I can show somebody that he's traveling wrong,
Then my living shall not be in vain."

The Matchless Pearl
-- Author Unknown

David Morse - American missionary to India - became great friends there with the pearl-diver, Rambhau. Many an evening he spent in Rambhau's cabin reading to him from the Bible, and explaining to him God's way of salvation.

Rambhau enjoyed listening to the Word of God, but whenever the missionary tried to get Rambhau to accept Christ as his Savior - he would shake his head and reply, "Your Christian way to heaven is too easy for me! I cannot accept it. If ever I should find admittance to heaven in that manner - I would feel like a pauper there...like a beggar who has been let in out of pity. I may be proud - but I want to deserve, I want to earn my place in heaven -- and so I am going to work for it."

Nothing the missionary could say seemed to have any effect on Rambhau's decision, and so quite a few years slipped by. One evening, however, the missionary heard a knock on his door, and on going to open it he found Rambhau there.

"Come in, dear friend," said Morse.

"No," said the pearl-diver. "I want you to come with me to my house, Sahib, for a short time -- I have something to show you. Please do not say 'No'."

"Of course I'll come," replied the missionary. As they neared his house, Rambhau said: "In a week's time I start working for my place in heaven; I am leaving for Delhi -- and I am going there on my knees."

"Man, you are crazy! It's nine hundred miles to Delhi, and the skin will break on your knees, and you will have blood-poisoning or leprosy before you get to Bombay."

"No, I must get to Delhi," affirmed Rambhau, "and the immortals will reward me for it! The suffering will be sweet - for it will purchase heaven for me!"

"Rambhau, my friend - you can't. How can I bear you to do it - when Jesus Christ has suffered and died to purchase heaven for you!"

But the old man could not be moved. "You are my dearest friend on earth, Sahib Morse. Through all these years you have stood by me in sickness, in want - you have been sometimes my only friend. But even you cannot turn me from my desire to purchase eternal bliss...I must go to Delhi!"

Inside the hut Morse was seated in the very chair Rambhau had specially built for him - where on so many occasions he had read to him the Bible.

Rambhau left the room to return soon with a small but heavy English strongbox. "I have had this box for years," said he, "and I keep only one thing in it. Now I will tell you about it, Sahib Morse. I once had a son..."

"A son! Why, Rambhau, you have never before said a word about him!"

"No, Sahib, I couldn't." Even as he spoke the diver's eyes were moistened.

"Now I must tell you, for soon I will leave, and who knows whether I shall ever return? My son was a diver too. He was the best pearl diver on the coasts of India. He had the swiftest dive, the keenest eye, the strongest arm, the longest breath of any man who ever sought for pearls.

What joy he brought to me! Most pearls, as you know, have some defect or blemish only the expert can discern, but my boy always dreamed of finding the 'perfect' pearl - one beyond all that was ever found. One day he found it! But even when he saw it - he had been under water too long... That pearl cost him his life, for he died soon after."

The old pearl diver bowed his head. For a moment his whole body shook, but there was no sound. "All these years," he continued, "I have kept this pearl - but now I am going, not to return, and to you, my best friend - I am giving my pearl."

The old man worked the combination on the strongbox and drew from it a carefully wrapped package. Gently opening the cotton, he picked up a mammoth pearl and placed it in the hand of the missionary.

It was one of the largest pearls ever found off the coast of India, and glowed with a luster and brilliance never seen in cultured pearls. It would have brought a fabulous sum in any market.

For a moment the missionary was speechless and gazed with awe. "Rambhau! What a pearl!"

"That pearl, Sahib, is perfect," replied the Indian quietly. The missionary looked up quickly with a new thought: Was not this the very opportunity and occasion he had prayed for - to make Rambhau understand the value of Christ's sacrifice? So he said, designedly, "Rambhau, this is a wonderful pearl, an amazing pearl. Let me buy it. I would give you ten thousand dollars for it."

"Sahib! What do you mean?"

"Well, I will give you fifteen thousand dollars for it, or if it takes more - I will work for it."

"Sahib," said Rambhau, stiffening his whole body, "this pearl is beyond price. No man in all the world has money enough to pay what this pearl is worth to me. On the market a million dollars could not buy it. I will not sell it to you. You may only have it as a gift."

"No, Rambhau, I cannot accept that. As much as I want the pearl, I cannot accept it that way. Perhaps I am proud, but that is too easy. I must pay for it, or work for it..."

The old pearl-diver was stunned. "You don't understand at all, Sahib. Don't you see. My only son gave his life to get this pearl, and I wouldn't sell it for any money. Its worth is in the life-blood of my son. I cannot sell this - but I can give it to you. Just accept it in token of the love I bear you."

The missionary was choked, and for a moment could not speak. Then he gripped the hand of the old man. "Rambhau," he said in a low voice, "don't you see? My words are just what you have been saying to God all the time."

The diver looked long and searchingly at the missionary, and slowly, slowly he began to understand. "God is offering you salvation as a free gift," said the missionary. "It is so great and priceless that no man on earth can buy it. Millions of dollars are too little. No man on earth could earn it. His life would be millions of years too short. No man is good enough to deserve it. It cost God the life-blood of His only Son to make the entrance for you into heaven. In a million years, in a hundred pilgrimages, you could not earn that entrance. All you can do is to accept it as a token of God's love for you - a sinner.

"Rambhau, of course I will accept the pearl in deep humility, praying God that I may be worthy of your love. Rambhau, won't you accept God's great gift of heaven, too, in deep humility, knowing it cost Him the death of His Son to offer it to you?"

Great tears were now rolling down the cheeks of the old man. The veil was beginning to lift. "Sahib, I see it now. I have believed in the doctrine of Jesus for the last two years, but I could not believe that His salvation was free. Now I understand. Some things are too priceless to be bought or earned. Sahib, I will accept His salvation!"

Final blog on Dealing with Pain:
Many people from the Bible experienced pain and suffering. We see people that were stoned, beheaded, and even tortured. Even the life of Jesus shows suffering. So we that suffer need to remember the men of great faith that suffered also. Read Hebrews chapter 11.
We can try and have a positive attitude or a bad attitude on how we handle pain.
Here is some scripture on a good attitude:
Daniel 3:16-18, Matthew 26:39. Philippians 1:19-26, Philippians 3:13,14, Galatians 6:2, Romans 12:14.
Sit down and read Job for examples of a bad attitude.
Remember God is in control. Take comfort in the scriptures and trust God.
Here is some scriptures I encourage you to look at: Psalm119:67,71 – Isaiah 53:3-5, 1 Peter 1:6,7, 1Peter 2:21-24, James 1:2-4, John 9:2,3, 2Corinthians 12:10, Hebrews 5:8,9, Hebrews 12:5-7,10,11 . Also remember I encouraged you to read Hebrews11.
I hope you enjoyed these couple of blogs.

PartTwo on Study of pain:
Here is some scripture that talks about pain:
Pain that is incurable – Jeremiah 15:18- Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth to be healed? Wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar, and as waters that fail?
Pain in the bone – Job 33:19- He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain.
Pain in the heart- Psalm55:4- My heart is sore pained within me: ant the terrors of death are fallen upon me.
Pain in the loins- Isaiah 21:3- Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that travaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it.

First Part of my study on Pain :
Where did pain come from:
We can find the answer to that from Genesis chapter 3. Because of Adam and Eve’s disobedience sin came into the world. Things changed for them after their disobedience. Look what God told Eve in ver. 16. Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children….
Who is the source of pain:
Now thinking on this kind of tripped me up. We know pain came into the world because of Adam and Eve’s disobediences. They listened to the serpent (which is satan) . Now if you just thought of this then you would say satan is the cause of pain. But God created everything and everyone. So actually God created pain. I believe He allowed satan to bring that pain into our lives. For a number of reason. I detest when you hear someone say well you have pain because of some unconfessed sin in your life. That could be true but I believe there are other reasons also for pain in our lives.
How many have pain:
Romans 8:22 – For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
At one time or another we have all experienced pain. Some for a short time and some for a length of time.
When will pain end:
When we get to heaven!
Revelation21:4 – And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
