I have been watching the Winter Olympics on TV. I really enjoy watching them. I thought about the people that are competing. To be as good as they are they really have to be dedicated to it. I am sure they practice, practice and practice! They interviewed a guy and he said he studies a lot of video of him doing jumps so he can correct errors in what he is doing. Then I thought about Christians how dedicated are we to our Christian walk? We have to be faithful, faithful, faithful in our Christian walk! We have to be studying our Bibles so we can correct errors in our walk. We need to be in church faithfully! Just like in the Olympics they get a medal for winning. When we get to Heaven we have crowns waiting for us also. The Bible speaks of running our race:
1 Cor. 9:24 – Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
Hebrews 12:1 – Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
Here is some scriptures on our rewards:
1 Cor. 9: 24-25 crown of self-control
1 Thess. 2:19 crown of soul-winning
2 Tim. 4:8 crown of righteousness
James 1: 12, Rev. 2: 10 crown of life
1 Peter 5: 4 crown of glory ( this is only for Pastors)
1 Cor. 3 crown of faithfulness
